Aloha Swim Szn'ers

Are you in need of some clean eating inspo? Well you have come to the right place! I absolutely love eating a diet full of fresh fruits and vegetables along with whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, and many more plant based options. Many people are turned off to clean eating because it is not as flavorful or exciting as eating a standard american diet. This is totally understandable and to be completely honest I pushed through many unappetizing meals of raw veggies until I my taste buds changed. But this is where I am going to help you out, I am going to give you a clean eating recipe hack so every meal is not only nutritious but also delicious!

Grocery List

Breakfast

  • bananas
  • frozen blueberries
  • spinach
  • hemp seeds or powder
  • nut milk
  • old fashion oats
  • chia seeds
  • dried fruit
  • nuts
  • nut butter
  • agave

Recipe Tip:

Have a smoothie for breakfast using your banana, frozen blueberries, spinach, hemp seeds, and nut milk! Also have a bowl of oats by combining oats, chia seeds, dried fruit, nuts, nut butter, agave and add hot water. Stir and let sit to absorb the water, this is even good after sitting in the refrigerator for a little!

Lunch

  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • zuchini
  • sprouts
  • tomato
  • brown rice
  • black beans (dried then cooked or canned is ok)
  • soy sauce
  • tahini
  • lemon
  • garlic

Recipe Tip:

With these items you can make a "Buddha bowl" style lunch. Steam or bake the broccoli, cauliflower, and zucchini. Using a large bowl fill the bottom with the base, brown rice and black beans. Add your veggies on top. Garnish with sprouts and tomato. To make this taste even better create a healthy dressing using soy sauce, tahini, lemon juice, crushed garlic.

Dinner

  • brown rice
  • vegetarian refried beans
  • potatoes
  • onion
  • gaucamole
  • pico de galo
  • lettuce
  • whole wheat tortilla

Recipe Tip:

Burritos can be healthy! Make your own filling veggie burrito with these few simple ingredients. Cook your potatoes by first boiling them till soft. Then in a pan saute the onions in oil or water. Add the potatoes in before onions become translucent. then assemble your burrito as desired!

These were and still are my most stable meals I eat during my two year journey into living a healthy lifestyle. If you want more of my recipes I have made two other recipe blog posts here on Swim Szn and I have an endless amount on my Instagram. Be sure to click the link below to check it out.
