Size is Just a Number, How You Wear it is a Choice.
Posted on March 17 2017
There was a quote i saw when i was scrolling through pinterest today that really caught my eye. "Size is just a number, how you wear it is a choice." Ladies, lets really think about this quote. At some point in life, I'm certain almost every girl has struggled with their body image. Whether you are over-weight, under-weight, or at a healthy weight, I feel like we are all really hard on ourselves when it comes to the way we look. I wanted to write this blog because ladies, its 2017! (no shit, Caitlyn) and this is the year to embrace all body types! What I love most about Swim Szn is that the goal is to make everyone feel beautiful in their skin, no matter what size you are. Here are some of my tips to help boost your self confidence this year
1. STOP COMPARING YOURSELVES TO OTHER GIRLS
Y'all I cannot stress this enough, I see this way too much! Girls who have AMAZING bodies but are too busy comparing themselves to other girls that have totally different body shapes.Yes, the instagram models we all know and lurk have beautiful bodies, there is no denying that! But not everyone is genetically blessed to have a tiny waist and thicker thighs! Start learning to appreciate your body type and come to the realization that every one has different genetics and body types.
2. DONT FOCUS ON WEIGHT & SIZES
Throw away the scale ladies, this is something that I personally did! Don't get caught up with the number on the scale, and don't compare the weight you were a year ago to the weight you are now! If you want to drop a realistic amount of or or gain a realistic amount of weight, heck yeah girl, good for you! But don't make the number on the scale or the jean size an obsession.
3. LOOKS AREN'T EVERYTHING
To me, this is the most important thing to know. The way you look in a bathing suit has nothing to do with the kind of person you are. Instead of focusing on your weight, focus on your attitude and personality. Focus on bettering your inner self everyday and being kind to others. At the end of the day your looks don't define how good of a person you are.
