As we know summer is approaching us soon and for some it might already be summer. Sometimes summer can make you feel more greasy than most days, you may stay out late, or you just want to get an extra glow, this mask will help with all of those.
I came up with a face mask recipe that uses unique ingredients that have many other uses. These ingredients have many health benefits as well other than a face mask which is great because it is always good to have on hand. I will be sure to give you as much information that I find best for you to know. One thing I would like to note is that I did not use exact measurements because when I am making a recipe I prefer to use my intuition.
This is me with the mask on and then a selfie I took about an hour later!
FACE MASK RECIPE
Now let me explain why I believe this mask is great and how you can use these ingredients in many other beneficial ways.
Bentonite clay powder. This can be used as an anti itch cure for those pesky bug bites in the summer. Just mix with water and apply a thick layer to leave and let dry. Bentonite clay will literally remove impurities from the skin and clean out every pore. This clay can also reduce inflammation in the skin which will also help reduce the color of acne scars. It has also been said to be good for detoxification, adding minerals to the body, helps with allergic reactions, whiten teeth, soothe an upset stomach in humans and animals.
Spirulina. Packed with vitamin A, vitamin B12, K vitamins, iron, and is 60% protein, this algae can be used in many different ways. Vitamin A levels have a huge part with healthy skin. It is necessary for growth and development as well as cell recognition and collagen reproduction. This will help repair the skin cells from acne and scars. Spriulina can be added to juice and smoothies as a supplement, I have even see people use it in baking as a healthy green food dye and extra added nutritional value.
Avocado oil. This oil is one of the healthiest oils to cook with because it is one of the only oils that is derived from a fruit and not a nut or seed. It is the safest to cook at high temperatures because it has a very high smoke point. I love to use it as a facial moisturizer and a hair oil to keep it from getting tangled.
I really hope you all try this mask out and let me know on the comments below or on my instagram.
